Esthetician Course:
Empire Hair Institute’s 750-hour Esthetician Program is designed to fully prepare students for licensure through a balanced combination of theory, hands-on training, and clinical experience in skincare. The program focuses on developing the professional habits, technical expertise, and confidence needed to pass the TDLR licensing exam and succeed in the beauty industry.
Students will learn to deliver a complete “Spa Experience,” including skincare treatments, makeup application, waxing techniques, and advanced facial procedures. The curriculum includes structured lessons, quizzes, a mid-term, final exam, live demonstrations, and required skill-building activities in both lab and clinic settings.
Curriculum Breakdown
450 Hours – Theory and Related Practice
Instruction includes anatomy and physiology, skin diseases and disorders, skin analysis, facial machines and equipment, basic facials, client care, chemistry, superfluous hair removal, sanitation, first aid, state laws and rules, business management, health and safety, facial cleansing and therapy, and makeup.
300 Hours – Specialty Practice and Advanced Techniques
This portion covers advanced facials, superfluous hair removal using specialized devices or products, semi-permanent eyelash extension applications, advanced makeup techniques, and other high-demand services.
Graduates of this program will be fully prepared to take the required state licensing exams. Once licensed, they’ll be qualified to work in salons, spas, and even medical settings that offer advanced skincare treatments.

Written & Practical
Class attendance and participation are mandatory. Students will demonstrate their competency in theory and practice through mannequin repetitions and clinic activities. Instructions will be supplemented with visual aids, student presentation and other techniques. Although instructions and assignments may vary based on program requirements, students must maintain a theory grade average of 70% and pass a final written and practical exam prior to graduation. Numerical grades are considered according to the following grade scale:
